As Aventuras de Rin Tin Tin contava a história do menino Rusty e seu cão que perdem suas famílias em um ataque dos índios Apaches. Eles são salvos pela patrulha do Tenente Rip Masters que decide mantê-los no Forte Apache sob sua tutela tornando Rusty o Cabo do Forte. A partir daí, o menino Rusty e seu cão Rin Tin Tin vivem várias aventuras ao lado da patrulha enfrentando bandidos e índios. Entre os militares tínhamos o atrapalhado Sargento O'Hara, o Cabo Boone, Major Swanson e o Coronel, interpretado por John Hoyt.
